The Commodore Ballroom first opened its doors to the public in the late 1920s. It closed briefly in 1996, only to reopen in 1999 after a $3.5 million renovation, and has continued to go from strength to strength ever since. With a capacity of a little under 1,000, and such a rich history, it's little wonder that the Commodore Ballroom has become one of the best-loved live music venues in the greater Vancouver area.Over the years, many legendary performers have made their mark on the Commodore Ballroom schedule. U2, Coldplay, James Brown, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police, and KISS are just a few of those featured on the schedule in the past.
