A Particular Class of Women, A Play by Janet Feindel

A Particular Class of Women by Janet Feindel, was written after a celebrated 1985 court case in Ontario, where a stripper was raped at knifepoint. The Judge didn't pay much attention to the crime because as he pointed out the woman/victim 'was from a particular class of women whose profession it is to promote lust’. The play gives a glimpse into the lives of 8 women working in the skin trade in the mid 1980s, when Burlesque was rapidly fading away in the club scene, and table dancing was becoming more and more popular. The play takes place in the dressing room of The Cabaret Circus, a strip club that all 8 women are employed or have been employed at.

A Particular Class of Women breaks the stereotype that most of us have about women who work as strippers for a living. The play has everything you would desire from a theatre experience; comedy, drama and a little (well, actually) A LOT of erotica!

So come down to the Waterfront Theatre Oct 16-20th, and meet these 8 bawdy, hilarious, and outrageous women!
